Charles E Combs is the sole owner of Green-Tools.com. He is also known as Ed Combs (shown above in the 1973 new switching center picture). He spent 17 years of his 46 year telephony career as a Central Office Equipment (COE) Engineer and followed this with 16 years in IT. He has a history of developing tools to automate COE maintenance and also mechanize COE Planning, Engineering, Installation, and Provisioning. He played a strong development role with Sprint's first true "work from anywhere" enterprise mechanized COE Engineering system. He also supported this system for eight years by working from home for EDS/HP.
Green-Tools.com was intended to be a platform for developing work-from-anywhere tools.
Ed retired from HP in 2012 and was sidelined while taking care of his late wife who was dealing with a major life-threating illness. He is also engaged in the care of a parent in her late nineties . He shutdown Green-Tools LLC in January 2017. He is not sure when he will be moving back into some Green-Tools R&D work. Several years ago, Ed was tested as being technically 85% deaf. This increases the incentive for him to have working (beyond prototype) applications before he starts discussing what he is working on. Once some of his newer ideas have manifested into physical reality, he intends to publish more information on Green-Tools.com.
My kindest regards,
